From 22nd till 30th July in Tobolsk city at Tyumen region took place Portfolio Review and lecture program under the support of SIBUR holding that was organized by the 6. Moscow International Biennale for Young Art.
Experts of the art community – Sergey Khachaturov (Russian art critic, theorist, curator, art historian, PhD in history of art, assistant professor of History of Russian art department at the faculty of history of Lomonosov Moscow State University), Nikolay Palazhchenko (Russian art dealer, art manager, curator, art critic, art historian), Anna Zhurba (curator, staff member of exhibition department of Moscow Museum of Modern Art), at the invitation of Young Biennale had a talk with young artists and reviewed their portfolios. Each participant received experts’ advice on the possible ways of further creative development , as well as recommendations on the literature that might be helpful.
Lecture program that followed two days long Portfolio Review exposed different sides of the art world to the newcomer artists. Ekaterina Kibovskaya held lecture “What is Biennial?” at which she told what biennials are there in the world and how one can participate at them. Aleksey Novoselov and Anna Zhurba told about museum programs and the ways museums work with artists, Evgenia Chaika gave a speech on art residencies. Maria Agureeva shared her personal experience on the first steps and further ways of development of a young artist and Ksenia Podoynitsyna suggested that the audience take a glance at the art from investor’s and collector’s point of view.
